About me……

Just a little background.

My name is Sally Cariker. Among other things I am a Science teacher in the Great State of Texas!

My current post is a million miles (actually 4000+ miles) from where I started. My teaching career began in a large inner city secondary school in East London. It was (and is) just about the most culturally, economically and progressively diverse school you could imagine. It was a wonderful training ground.

After 13 years I decided to shake things up and move to pretty much an opposite environment. So I find myself here in East Texas in a small rural high school. Funny thing is, as different as the environment might be the parallels are striking. I guess students are the same everywhere, as I might add, are teachers.

So by all means, follow this blog and please let me know your thoughts…
